Emma C Johnson, PhD
Assistant Professor in Psychiatry
Washington University School of Medicine

I am a behavioral and psychiatric geneticist with research interests in:

  • the relationships between substance use disorders and other psychiatric disorders and health conditions

  • using approaches from the population and evolutionary genetics fields to learn more about the genetic architecture of psychiatric disorders

ABOUT ME

I am so lucky to have a job I love! I have always enjoyed applying quantitative methods to solve biological problems, and working with a collaborative team to solve these problems is really fun. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband Keith and our dogs Olive and Moose. I discovered running in college and really enjoy trail running (and the occasional speed workout), as well as hiking, playing trivia, cycling around town, and searching for Missouri's best croissant.
