Jared Balbona
Postdoctoral Scholar
Jared's work seeks to uncover ways in which whole genome data can be used to better understand the causes, both genetic and non-genetic, that parents and offspring resemble one another. In studying the transmission of physical, neuropsychiatric, and behavioral (namely substance use) traits, his goal is to inform potential intervention strategies that can improve the quality of life for individuals and their families.
Jared received his PhD in Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2022, and his Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018.
